About the Role
As Veteran Housing Coordinator at the ARCHES Lodge, you'll combine advocacy, negotiation, and individualized case support to break down the barriers preventing homeless and at-risk veterans from accessing safe, permanent housing. Your core work spans relationship-building with property owners, direct client support, problem-solving around rental obstacles, and collaborative action planning tailored to each participant's unique circumstances.
What You'll Do
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with landlords and property managers to identify and secure available rental opportunities
- Conduct intake assessments with homeless and at-risk veterans to understand housing needs, barriers, and individual circumstances
- Develop personalized housing action plans with each client, incorporating community resources and support strategies
- Address and remove housing-related obstacles—including financial, documentation, credit, and behavioral barriers—on behalf of participants
- Negotiate lease terms, rental assistance applications, and conditional agreements with landlords to facilitate successful placements
- Provide ongoing case management and landlord liaison support to ensure housing stability and tenant success
- Document progress, outcomes, and services delivered through accurate record-keeping and reporting
What We're Looking For
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to build trust with landlords, property owners, and vulnerable populations
- Experience working with homeless individuals, veterans, or other underserved communities—or demonstrated commitment to this work
- Problem-solving mindset and resourcefulness when addressing complex housing barriers
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to document and report on outcomes clearly
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client cases simultaneously
- Flexibility and comfort working in community settings; some travel within Marion County may be required
