About the Role
As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with Pennoni in Augusta, Maine, you will help safeguard the integrity of structural steel used on transportation agency projects. Working primarily at off-site fabrication facilities, you will verify that welding, fabrication, and coating work meets project specifications and applicable codes. This opening also supports inspection assignments across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance inspections of structural steel fabrication at off-site facilities
- Inspect welding processes and completed welds for conformance to project and code requirements
- Evaluate protective coatings applied to fabricated steel components
- Support QA fabrication inspection programs for transportation infrastructure projects
- Document findings and report results to project teams and transportation agencies
Qualifications
- Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication, welding, and coatings
- Familiarity with transportation infrastructure and agency project requirements
- Willingness to travel to off-site fabrication facilities, including locations across the Northeast
- Available for full-time or part-time scheduling
