Pennoni is seeking a Graduate Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Engineering team in Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach City. This is a full-time position for an entry-level engineer ready to develop expertise in transportation design, infrastructure planning, and analysis.
About the Role
As a Graduate Transportation Engineer, you'll contribute to the planning, design, and analysis of transportation infrastructure projects that serve communities across the region. You'll work collaboratively with experienced engineers to develop technical drawings, specifications, reports, and design documentation that guide how people and goods move through our transportation systems.
What You'll Do
- Assist in preparing transportation engineering designs, plans, and technical specifications
- Support traffic analysis, including capacity studies, signal timing, and safety evaluations
- Contribute to feasibility studies and engineering reports for highway and infrastructure projects
- Apply civil engineering principles to transportation planning and design challenges
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, municipal agencies, and regulatory partners
- Participate in site visits and field investigations to gather project data
- Use engineering design software and analytical tools to support project deliverables
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong foundation in transportation engineering principles, highway design, and traffic operations
- Proficiency with engineering design and analysis software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in technical work
- Eagerness to learn and develop as a transportation engineering professional
