About the Role

As the Graduate Assistant for Sport Information & Fan Engagement at Howard Payne University, you will support the athletics department in telling the story of our teams and connecting with supporters. The position blends sports information duties with fan engagement initiatives, giving you practical experience across communications, media relations, and game-day operations in an on-site, full-time capacity in Brownwood.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with sports information tasks such as statistics, game recaps, press releases, and record-keeping.
• Develop and execute fan engagement efforts to grow attendance, school spirit, and community involvement.
• Support social media, web content, and promotional materials for athletic programs.
• Help coordinate game-day operations, media coverage, and event logistics.
• Collaborate with coaches, staff, and student-athletes to highlight team accomplishments.

Qualifications

• Admission to or enrollment in a graduate program at Howard Payne University.
• Interest in or experience with sports information, communications, marketing, or athletics administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends around the athletic schedule.
