Parexel is hiring a full-time Medical Director, Oncology / GI Subspecialty in Topeka — a senior clinical leadership opportunity for an oncology physician ready to shape the science behind global cancer research.

About the Role

As Medical Director, Oncology / GI Subspecialty at Parexel, you will provide the medical and scientific direction that guides oncology and gastrointestinal clinical development programs from concept through delivery. Based on-site in Topeka, you will partner with sponsors and cross-functional teams to design, safeguard, and advance studies that bring new cancer therapies closer to patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer expert medical leadership across oncology and GI subspecialty clinical trials spanning every phase of research.
• Contribute to compound development strategy, including study planning and clinical program design.
• Author, review, and refine protocols to strengthen scientific quality and feasibility.
• Deliver medical monitoring and support pharmacovigilance activities to protect participant safety.
• Collaborate with feasibility, operational, and sponsor teams to keep programs aligned with their therapeutic goals.
• Serve as a trusted scientific advisor on GI and broader oncology indications.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with specialized expertise in oncology and gastrointestinal disease.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical development, medical monitoring, or drug safety within a research or pharmaceutical setting.
• Strong command of clinical trial methodology, protocol development, and regulatory expectations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with sponsors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work full-time, on-site in Topeka.
