The University of Miami is seeking an experienced Lead Medical Technologist to help guide laboratory operations through the UHealth Labs transition in Miami, Miami-Dade County. This full-time, on-site leadership role places you at the center of a high-performing clinical laboratory team dedicated to accurate, timely diagnostic testing.
About the Role
As a Lead Medical Technologist within the UHealth Laboratories Department, you will combine hands-on clinical expertise with day-to-day leadership. This position supports the department through an important operational transition, ensuring testing quality, workflow continuity, and team coordination remain strong throughout the change.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily laboratory operations and provide technical guidance to medical technologists and support staff.
- Perform and review complex clinical and diagnostic laboratory testing to established quality standards.
- Support the UHealth Labs transition by helping maintain consistent workflows, accuracy, and turnaround times.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, verify results, and uphold quality control and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and train team members, promoting best practices across the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Background and credentials as a Medical Technologist, with the experience expected of a lead-level practitioner.
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality assurance protocols.

- Ability to work on-site full-time in Miami, Miami-Dade County.
