Travel Nurse RN – PACU – Post Anesthesia Care

About the Role

This Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care position places you at the bedside of patients recovering from surgery and anesthesia in a Nashville healthcare facility. As a Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN, you will monitor patients through the critical recovery window, watching for complications and ensuring a safe, comfortable transition out of the operating room. This is a full-time travel role structured around a 13-week contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct post-anesthesia recovery care to surgical patients in the PACU.
• Continuously assess vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and neurological response after anesthesia.
• Identify and respond promptly to post-operative complications and changes in patient condition.
• Coordinate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the perioperative team to guide each patient toward stabilization.
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly during patient hand-offs.
• Work 12-hour day shifts across an approximately 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure valid for practice in Tennessee (or an eligible compact license).
• Hands-on nursing experience in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit or comparable recovery setting.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to act quickly under pressure.
• Flexibility and adaptability suited to short-term travel nursing assignments.
• Availability to begin this immediate opening on a 13-week, day-shift schedule.
