About the Role
As a Videojournalist at WJHG, you will own stories from start to finish across the Panama City Beach and Bay County community. This is an on-site, full-time position for a self-driven multimedia journalist who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and is passionate about serving local audiences with trustworthy, engaging reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Pitch, research, and report original news stories relevant to the Panama City Beach and Bay County area
- Capture professional-quality video and audio in the field
- Write clear, accurate scripts for broadcast and digital platforms
- Edit packages and segments to meet daily deadlines
- Conduct interviews and build sources within the community
- Contribute to the station's website and social media coverage
- Collaborate with producers, anchors, and the newsroom team to deliver standout local journalism
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to shoot, write, and edit news video as a one-person crew
- Strong news judgment and a commitment to journalistic accuracy and ethics
- Excellent storytelling, writing, and communication skills
- Comfort working under tight deadlines and adapting to breaking news
- A reliable, team-oriented attitude and willingness to work on location in Bay County
