Role Overview

As an Afternoon Teaching Assistant at the Youth Development Center, you'll work directly with infants, toddlers, or preschool-age children during their critical developmental years. This part-time afternoon position offers meaningful work alongside experienced educators in a supportive, engaging learning environment. Your contributions will help prepare young learners for the transition to kindergarten while building their confidence, social skills, and foundational learning abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for infants, toddlers, or preschool children in the Youth Development Center
• Assist lead teachers with classroom activities, instructional support, and age-appropriate learning experiences
• Help create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages exploration and social development
• Support daily routines including meals, transitions, and rest periods
• Foster positive interactions among children and promote independence skills
• Communicate with families about child progress and development
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organize materials and learning spaces

Who We're Looking For

• Ability to follow classroom procedures and support the lead teacher's vision

• Physical ability to lift, bend, and remain active during the afternoon shift
