About the Role
As a Window Treatment Installer with The Shade Store, you'll deliver the final step in our custom design process—bringing professionally designed shades, blinds, and drapery into customers' homes and commercial spaces. You'll work as a skilled tradesperson, combining precision, attention to detail, and genuine customer care to ensure every installation meets our high standards of quality and finish.
What You'll Do
- Measure, fit, and install custom window treatments in customer homes and businesses across the NYC area
- Assess window conditions and identify any installation challenges or modifications needed
- Ensure all installations are level, secure, and finished to specification
- Communicate clearly with customers about the installation process and answer questions about their products
- Maintain a professional appearance and work environment in customers' spaces
- Keep accurate records of completed installations and customer interactions
- Travel to job sites throughout Manhattan and surrounding neighborhoods
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a window treatment installer, or equivalent hands-on installation background
- Ability to read measurements, understand technical specifications, and follow installation instructions precisely
- Comfort working with hand and power tools, and at various heights
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliability and ability to manage multiple installations across a service territory
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
