About this role & career path
Travel MRI work sits in diagnostic imaging: ARRT-registered technologists often move from staff MRI roles into contract assignments for broader modality experience, higher mobility, and exposure to multiple vendors and care settings. Progression commonly stays clinical (senior tech, lead, multi-modality) or shifts into education, applications, or imaging operations.
Build the skills for this role
Prioritize MRI safety (zones, implants, contrast), protocol selection, patient positioning, and artifact troubleshooting. Strengthen documentation, infection control, and calm bedside manner under travel onboarding pressure. No certification product list or costs were supplied in CERTS for this listing.
Be ready to walk through MRI safety incidents you prevented, how you learn a new scanner fast, and how you handle claustrophobic or unstable patients. Ask Care Career about assignment length, housing/travel support, call requirements, and which Charlotte sites use which MRI platforms.
Strong fit if you are an experienced MRI tech comfortable with short-notice travel, new hospital cultures, and high-throughput scanning without remote work. Weak fit if you need a fixed long-term staff schedule or cannot meet facility credentialing and on-site safety standards.
