Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a Teen Services Specialist for our Karl Road Branch in Minerva Park, Ohio. In this 20-hour part-time role, you'll create engaging experiences and essential library services for teen patrons in our community.
About the Role
As Teen Services Specialist at the Karl Road Branch, you'll develop programming, provide reference services, and foster a welcoming environment where teens discover resources and build skills. This non-exempt position combines direct patron service with program development and collection curation.
What You'll Do
- Deliver reference and research assistance to teen patrons, helping them locate library materials and digital resources
- Plan and facilitate teen programs including workshops, book clubs, and educational events
- Maintain and expand the teen collection with current titles and formats that engage young readers
- Provide technology assistance and digital literacy support to teens using library resources
- Collaborate with library staff and community partners on teen engagement initiatives
- Create promotional content and outreach materials for teen services
- Cultivate an inclusive, supportive space where all teens feel welcome
