About the Role

As an Energy Storage Technical Lead at our Oakland headquarters, you'll take ownership of technical strategy and standards that guide our design engineering team. This is not a behind-the-scenes role—your work directly influences how we build, test, and deploy energy storage systems that power homes and businesses throughout California.

What You'll Do

• Define and maintain comprehensive equipment standards for energy storage system design, ensuring consistency, safety, and performance across all projects
• Lead noise impact assessments and mitigation strategies to meet regulatory requirements and community standards
• Drive duration-based system performance optimization, analyzing capacity, efficiency, and longevity requirements for diverse applications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the design engineering team on standards compliance and best practices
• Collaborate with product, operations, and installation teams to translate technical requirements into practical solutions
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry standards to keep our systems ahead of the curve

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 5+ years of experience in energy storage systems, battery technology, power electronics, or renewable energy technologies
• Demonstrated expertise in equipment standards development, testing protocols, or technical specifications
• Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate across multiple teams and departments
• Excellent technical communication skills, including the ability to document standards and mentor junior engineers
• Familiarity with noise assessment methodologies, regulatory compliance, and performance benchmarking
