New Leaf Energy is hiring a full-time Interconnection Project Manager (Utility-Scale) in Lowell, Middlesex County to help shepherd large clean energy projects through the utility interconnection process. About the Role
As an Interconnection Project Manager at New Leaf Energy, you will own the interconnection journey for utility-scale renewable projects, guiding them from application through approval and energization. This position can be based out of our Lowell, MA, Boston, MA, or Chicago, IL offices. We believe in the value of working side by side, so we operate on a hybrid schedule: team members spend at least two of every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office, with flexibility to work from home or the office on the remaining days.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage utility-scale interconnection applications from submission through final approval and project energization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between New Leaf Energy, utilities, and regional grid operators.
- Track interconnection milestones, deadlines, and study results to keep projects on schedule.
- Coordinate cross-functional input from engineering, development, and finance teams to resolve technical and procedural questions.
- Monitor evolving interconnection rules, tariffs, and queue procedures to anticipate impacts on the project portfolio.
Qualifications
- Experience managing interconnection processes, ideally for utility-scale solar, storage, or other renewable energy assets.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of juggling multiple timelines and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Familiarity with utility and grid operator interconnection procedures, studies, and agreements.
- Clear, proactive communication skills for liaising with external utilities and internal teams.
- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule from our Lowell, Boston, or Chicago office locations.
