About This Position

The Department of Education is seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers for permanent and fixed-term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence within this period.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in Kindergarten through Year 6 following the curriculum guidelines provided by the Department of Education
• Develop and implement lesson plans, assessments, and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth
• Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive learning environment and enhance the overall educational experience for students
• Attend professional development sessions as required by the Department of Education

Requirements

• A valid teaching certificate or qualification recognized by the Department of Education
• Proven experience in teaching K-6 students, preferably within a similar educational setting
• A strong understanding of current educational standards and curriculum requirements for K-6 education
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom environments and maintain discipline while fostering a positive learning atmosphere
