Teacher, Grades Pre-K – 2, Bilingual Spanish, 2026-2027 School Year

Join Killeen Independent School District as a full-time elementary teacher specializing in bilingual instruction for students in Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade. This position offers the opportunity to build strong foundational literacy and numeracy skills in both English and Spanish for early learners across our district campuses.

About the Role

As a bilingual educator in our Pre-K–2nd grade program, you'll create an inclusive, language-rich classroom environment where young students develop fluency in both English and Spanish. You'll use research-based instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and foster a love of learning during these critical developmental years.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in mathematics, literacy, science, and social studies using both English and Spanish
• Assess student progress through formative and summative measures; adjust instruction based on individual learner needs
• Implement differentiated instruction to support emerging bilinguals, heritage speakers, and English-dominant learners
• Build strong partnerships with families, communicating student progress in both English and Spanish
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and specialists to ensure coherent, coordinated instruction
• Maintain a safe, organized, and culturally responsive learning environment
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Valid Texas teacher certification (or eligibility through the 2026–2027 school year)
• Bilingual Spanish certification or endorsement (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
• Demonstrated proficiency in teaching content areas to young learners in both languages
• Strong understanding of early literacy and numeracy development
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, both oral and written
• Commitment to equity, cultural competency, and meeting the needs of all learners
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities
