About the Role

As a Store Asset Protection Associate at Five Below Beaverton, you'll be the frontline presence that protects company merchandise, deters theft, and fosters a secure shopping environment for customers and associates alike. This is a full-time, in-store position that blends sharp observation skills with real teamwork across every level of the store.

What You'll Do

• Actively deter shoplifting and internal theft through a visible, professional presence on the sales floor
• Monitor surveillance systems and CCTV footage to identify suspicious behavior and document incidents accurately
• Conduct apprehensions and detentions in strict compliance with company policy and applicable Oregon law
• Partner with store management to analyze shrink trends and implement targeted loss prevention strategies
• Respond to safety incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations, coordinating with local law enforcement when necessary
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain organized case files for all loss prevention activities
• Support inventory control processes and assist with audits to identify vulnerability points
• Train and educate store associates on awareness techniques that reduce opportunity for theft

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior experience in retail loss prevention, security, or a related field is strongly preferred
• Keen observational skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation and team collaboration
• Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to ethical conduct
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods
• Flexibility to work a full-time schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Familiarity with surveillance technology and basic computer skills are a plus
