Role Overview

In this Senior Engineering Manager position, you'll lead across multiple engineering teams or a significant capability domain. You'll convert strategic direction into actionable engineering plans, navigate ambiguous situations with structured clarity, resolve cross-team dependencies, and ensure reliable delivery for digital agriculture systems. Your success depends on accountability for outcomes, influence beyond direct reporting relationships, and partnership with Product, Design, and technical peers.

What You'll Do

• Drive delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams, proactively managing risks and overcoming obstacles
• Convert strategic priorities and roadmaps into clear, actionable engineering plans with explicit tradeoffs
• Coach, develop, and mentor Engineering Managers and senior engineers to expand capability and autonomy
• Build strong teams through deliberate hiring, talent development, and succession planning initiatives
• Maintain high technical standards by balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term system sustainability and architectural quality
• Collaborate across functions with Product, Design, and Architecture to eliminate dependencies and magnify impact
• Lead Agile/Scrum practices and continuously improve CI/CD automation for faster, safer releases

What You Bring

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in formal management responsibility
• Track record managing multiple engineering teams or serving as a manager of other managers
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or demonstrable equivalent professional background
• Hands-on AWS production operations including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda services
• Demonstrated leadership of Agile and Scrum teams with backlog management and retrospective facilitation
• Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Preferred: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK), microservices or serverless architectures, DORA metrics, mentoring paths to senior engineering levels, observability tools, and cross-functional product planning
