Smartsheet is hiring a Senior Visual Designer (Remote eligible – Costa Rica) to join our brand studio and shape how millions of people experience our brand. If you live in Costa Rica and live to turn strategy into striking, original design, this full-time role was built for you.

About the Role

As a Senior Visual Designer at Smartsheet, you'll be a conceptual force inside a fast-growing brand studio—generating ideas across narrative, experience, and design systems while executing flawlessly from first sketch to final delivery. You'll report to the Creative Director based in Costa Rica, and you must reside in Costa Rica, with the flexibility to telework from any registered location in the country (role specific).

Key Responsibilities

• Elevate and evolve the Smartsheet brand identity through intentional, high-quality work.
• Lead project execution and mentor junior designers and contractors, raising both craft and career growth.
• Help define flexible, coherent design systems and component libraries, plus mood boards, comps, concept sketches, decks, style guides, and storyboards.
• Own projects end to end, choosing the most effective way to present concepts to stakeholders.
• Steward large-scale projects, timelines, and resources while coaching less senior designers on theirs.
• Clearly articulate design rationale, guide feedback, and keep work on brief and aligned to strategy.
• Partner across technology and project management to satisfy creative, strategic, and technical goals.
• Identify and commission specialists such as artists and photographers when projects call for it.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mid-to-senior design roles spanning marketing collateral, brand systems, and digital strategy for technology companies.
• Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Cloud, Firefly, and Express).
• Proven ability to juggle several complex projects at once without losing precision.
• Strategic, big-picture thinking and proactive ownership of outcomes.
• Cultural fluency across global trends, regions, and languages, including Generative and Agentic AI.
• An entrepreneurial, get-it-done mindset balancing speed with quality.
• Bachelor's degree in design, related studies and certifications, or equivalent professional experience.
• Bonus: motion (After Effects), document design (Google and Microsoft Office), and web (Figma, Zeplin, Webflow, HTML/CSS, Drupal).
