Software Engineer II

Flex is hiring a Software Engineer II in Brazil (nationwide) (nationwide) to build financial infrastructure for ambitious business owners. Join us in developing mission-critical banking and payments systems that empower entrepreneurs to manage money with control and intelligence.

About This Position

As a Software Engineer II at Flex, you'll contribute to a rapidly growing fintech platform reshaping how business owners access financial services. We've scaled from launch in September 2023 to nine-figure revenue with clear profitability targets, and we're building the entire financial operating system for affluent entrepreneurs. This is a full-time, in-office role in Brazil (nationwide) (nationwide) where you'll take ownership of meaningful features across our core product stack and see your work impact real customers managing between $3M and $200M in business revenue.

Your Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver medium-to-large features through their complete lifecycle, from initial design through deployment
• Develop both customer-facing functionality and internal systems, including APIs and backend services for payments and credit
• Write production-grade code focused on clarity, maintainability, and long-term ownership
• Review teammates' work and deliver constructive feedback to strengthen overall code quality
• Design solutions with end-user value and business outcomes at the center, not just technical correctness
• Operate within regulated financial services, balancing rapid iteration with compliance and risk management
• Collaborate across engineering and product teams to solve complex problems and deliver high-impact results

Who We're Looking For

• Proven software development fundamentals with the ability to work effectively within established systems and architecture
• Strong product intuition—you think deeply about how your work affects users and the business
• Genuine ownership mentality; you take responsibility for the quality and reliability of systems you touch
• Comfort researching unfamiliar problems and bringing solutions forward independently
• Professional English communication
• Experience in financial services, regulated industries, or working with sensitive data is valuable but not mandatory
• Technical proficiency with TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure (we use GCP)
