Software Engineer – Data Platform

Continental is hiring a Software Engineer – Data Platform to join our Information Technology team in Bengaluru, KA, IN. This is a full-time position based on-site.

About This Position

We're seeking a Software Engineer – Data Platform to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that powers Continental's global operations. You'll work on mission-critical systems that process and serve vast amounts of data, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about distributed systems, data architecture, and operational excellence.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Architect and develop robust data platforms using modern technologies and best practices
• Optimise data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
• Collaborate with data teams, analysts, and product stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting systems to ensure platform stability
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Contribute to documentation and maintain system architecture diagrams

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Scala
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles
• Experience with distributed data platforms such as Kafka, Spark, or Airflow
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with data warehousing or data lake implementations
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-premises infrastructure
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
