About the Role

As a Digital Social Media Intern at Active Minds in Washington, D.C., you'll support our digital and communications team in shaping how mental health conversations reach hundreds of thousands of people online. This hands-on internship is built for emerging creatives and communicators who want to translate purpose-driven messaging into engaging content across social platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, schedule, and publish content across Active Minds' social media channels
• Assist with developing graphics, captions, and short-form video that resonate with student and public audiences
• Monitor engagement, track performance trends, and help report on social media metrics
• Support community management by responding to comments and messages in our brand voice
• Research current digital trends and contribute fresh ideas to ongoing campaigns

Qualifications

• Current college student or recent graduate residing in the United States
• Strong written communication skills and a sharp eye for compelling visual content
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and content-scheduling tools
• Genuine interest in mental health advocacy and nonprofit communications
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
