Senior Sustainability Controller

GE Vernova is hiring a Senior Sustainability Controller in the United States to bring finance-grade rigor, governance, and audit readiness to one of the most important reporting challenges in the energy transition. About the Role

As Senior Sustainability Controller, you will own the governance, internal controls, and reporting readiness behind GE Vernova's sustainability data. Working hand-in-hand with Finance, Sustainability, Legal, Digital Technology, Internal Audit, and the business, you will help build a scalable controllership framework that underpins regulatory filings, voluntary disclosures, and management reporting across global jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

• Advance and operationalize the Sustainability Data Governance Framework, including ownership models, review and approval workflows, and evidence retention.
• Embed control requirements for reporting metrics through process narratives, risk-and-control matrices, standard work, and auditable documentation.
• Strengthen the control environment alongside Sustainability, Finance Controllership, SOX, Legal, and business partners.
• Run the annual internal assessment cycle and lead remediation of gaps surfaced by internal and external audits.
• Coordinate external assurance over key datapoints, maintain the regulatory reporting calendar, and support Double Materiality Assessment refreshes.
• Improve reporting infrastructure, including Workiva and related tools, to enable efficient, controlled data processes.
• Support quarter-close sustainability reporting and quarterly SEC filings, including selected 10-Q/10-K footnotes and MD&A sections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Depth in controllership, accounting, financial reporting, audit, or internal controls.
• Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, CSRD/ESRS, and EU Taxonomy.
• Proven success leading complex, multi-stakeholder cross-functional projects.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical processes.
• Preferred: CPA, CA, or equivalent; public-company reporting and SOX experience; ESG/non-financial reporting in a multinational; and tools like Workiva or Sphera.
