About the Role
As Senior EHS Specialist - Rigging, you'll be the trusted advisor on safety and regulatory compliance for one of North America's most demanding industrial environments. You'll work alongside operations leadership to identify hazards, develop controls, and embed safety culture into every project. Your expertise in rigging operations, combined with deep knowledge of nuclear regulatory requirements and OSHA standards, will directly impact our ability to execute safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement health and safety programs tailored to rigging operations and nuclear facility requirements
- Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments for heavy equipment handling, lifting operations, and personnel safety
- Ensure compliance with NRC, OSHA, and DOT regulations specific to nuclear waste and equipment management
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, developing preventive measures and corrective actions
- Provide technical EHS guidance to site operations teams and contractors on rigging safety procedures
- Develop training programs and coordinate safety awareness initiatives across the facility
- Audit rigging equipment, procedures, and work practices to maintain regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to integrate safety into operational planning
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 5+ years of EHS experience with documented expertise in heavy rigging, lifting operations, or industrial safety
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NRC compliance, and nuclear facility safety standards
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical safety concepts to diverse audiences
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to regulatory detail
- Experience working in nuclear, manufacturing, or highly regulated industrial settings preferred
