Ground every answer in facts on this page and the original listing. We never invent Glassdoor-style reviews or salaries that are not in our data.
Be ready to walk through how you built or audited sustainability metrics, closed books with ESG overlays, and resolved data gaps between plants and finance. Expect scenarios on control design, materiality, and explaining variance in emissions or energy intensity to leadership.
Best for controllers who can own sustainability numbers with the same rigor as financials inside a global energy manufacturer. Weaker fit if you want pure strategy without control ownership or purely local plant accounting without enterprise reporting.
As Senior Sustainability Controller at GE Vernova, a typical day balances sustainability KPIs with financial controls across Power, Wind, and Electrification. You review emissions, energy, and ESG metrics against budgets and forecasts; partner with plant, finance, and ESG teams on data integrity; prepare board- or audit-ready packs; and flag control gaps in reporting systems used for regulated and investor disclosures.
Prioritize: sustainability/ESG reporting frameworks, internal controls and SOX-style discipline, multi-entity financial consolidation, data quality for non-financial KPIs, and stakeholder communication with operations and auditors. No certification list was provided for this role family.
It designs, manufactures, and services power generation, wind, and electrification equipment and related digital grid technologies.
The listing is not marked remote; expect a U.S.-based assignment depending on the hiring site.
Senior controllership plus hands-on sustainability or ESG reporting in industrial or energy settings is the strongest match given the title and company.
