As a Senior Software Engineer – Simulation Validation at GM, you are both a hands-on engineer and a technical leader driving the quality and reliability of critical simulation infrastructure. This role combines deep software development expertise with strategic thinking about how simulation platforms scale and evolve across GM's autonomous vehicle programs.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain robust simulation validation frameworks that ensure autonomous vehicle software performs as intended in diverse scenarios
- Develop automated regression monitoring systems that continuously track platform fidelity and catch performance regressions early
- Define validation protocols, testing standards, and quality gates that raise the bar for simulation-based verification across teams
- Architect metric collection and analysis systems that provide actionable insights into simulation accuracy and system behavior
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to integrate validation requirements into simulation platform development
- Write production-grade code while mentoring junior engineers and establishing best practices for the validation domain
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in validation, testing, or quality assurance roles
- Strong proficiency in software design, test automation, and building reliable systems at scale
- Experience designing metrics, defining protocols, and establishing measurement and monitoring frameworks
- Familiarity with simulation, autonomous systems, or related technical domains is a plus
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, work collaboratively across teams, and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
