The Opportunity
X-energy is seeking a Senior Pressure Vessels/Tanks Engineer to join our team in Derwood, Maryland. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing pressure vessels and tanks that meet industry standards and customer requirements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects while working with a dynamic and collaborative group.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and develop pressure vessels and tanks, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis and simulations using advanced software tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines are met and quality is maintained.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Perform inspections and reviews of designs to identify potential issues and improve overall performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design and development of pressure vessels/tanks.
- Proficient in using CAD software for designing and modeling.
- Strong understanding of ASME, API, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
