Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (Hybrid Work Option)

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis to lead financial strategy and insights for our growing operations in Gillette, Wyoming. In this full-time role, you will drive financial performance, build predictive analytics capabilities, and partner closely with business leaders across our consulting and engineering divisions.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, you will own the complete financial planning cycle for our organization. You'll develop multi-year financial forecasts, analyze business performance against targets, and translate complex financial data into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making. This is a leadership position where you'll build and mentor a team of financial analysts, establish best practices in FP&A processes, and serve as a trusted financial partner to senior leadership and operational executives.

What You'll Do

• Lead annual and long-range financial planning processes, including revenue forecasting, expense budgeting, and scenario modeling
• Conduct variance analysis and performance reviews; prepare comprehensive financial reporting and dashboards for executive leadership
• Develop key performance indicators and metrics aligned with corporate strategy; monitor realization and recommend corrective actions
• Partner with project management, operations, and service delivery teams to ensure financial visibility and resource optimization
• Manage financial modeling for new business opportunities, service lines, and strategic initiatives
• Oversee FP&A systems, tools, and data infrastructure; drive process improvements and automation
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team; develop talent and foster a culture of analytical excellence

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field; MBA or advanced finance certification preferred
• 8+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or financial planning experience; at least 3 years in a management or senior analyst role
• Proven expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Proficiency with financial planning systems, Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools
• Strong understanding of professional services, consulting, or engineering industry economics
• Exceptional communication skills; ability to influence across organizational levels and translate data into strategy
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong project management and team leadership capabilities
