Senior Engineer, eCommerce (Remote) - Sephora - Remote, United States
What This Role Involves
In this role at Sephora, you will develop and design Java microservices and Frontend applications for high availability eCommerce platform components systems. You'll apply Object-Oriented design principles, data structures, algorithms, DBMS/SQL, and Software Engineering practices to ensure the reliability and scalability of these systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive key design decisions for application components in enterprise projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends and evaluate new technologies for their suitability in applications.
- Ensure platform components have a clear separation of concerns, designed for reliability or easy scaling.
- Participate in load and performance testing and define and implement logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks for critical metrics at various levels.
- Mentor engineers on best practices in microservices implementation and assist in troubleshooting issues across the eCommerce application stack to support operational and production issues impacting business.
- Influence decisions, provide input, build consensus, and resolve conflicts constructively and proactively.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in Java microservices development, Frontend application design, and a deep understanding of Object-Oriented principles. Experience with data structures, algorithms, DBMS/SQL, and Software Engineering practices is essential.
