You'll lead the development and execution of visual, digital, and multimedia communications for the State Treasurer's Office, amplifying our consumer programs and advancing public engagement across the state.
About the Role
The State Treasurer's Office is seeking an experienced communications leader to oversee the creation and delivery of strategic visual, digital, and multimedia content. This full-time position places you at the center of our public-facing communications, owning the strategy and execution that inform and engage South Carolina residents about treasury services and consumer protection programs.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute comprehensive visual and digital communications campaigns supporting consumer programs and treasury initiatives
- Create multimedia content including graphics, videos, web materials, and social media assets that communicate complex information clearly
- Lead strategic communications planning and messaging architecture for public engagement efforts
- Collaborate with treasury staff, agency leadership, and external stakeholders to translate priorities into compelling, audience-ready communications
- Manage digital platforms and channels to maximize reach, engagement, and impact
- Establish and maintain brand consistency and quality standards across all communications touchpoints
What We're Looking For
- Proven communications management experience, preferably in government, public sector, or mission-driven organizations
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual design, digital media production, and multimedia development
- Track record of developing and executing strategic communications campaigns
- Advanced proficiency with design software, content management systems, and digital communication tools
- Excellent project management, organizational, and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively across departments and with diverse audiences
