As a Seasonal Chef Instructor (Pastry) with Cscgeneration-2, you serve as the on-site pastry authority who brings baking arts to life inside a retail setting known for more than 58 locations and the nation’s largest recreational cooking education series. You guide participants through techniques that spark enthusiasm for create-your-own treats while naturally showcasing tools and ingredients, fostering loyalty and advancing overall program results. The work centers on clear instruction, consistent quality, and an approachable teaching style that turns first-time bakers into regular visitors eager to return for more Seasonal Chef Instructor (Pastry) experiences in Westlake, Ohio.

Core Duties

  • Lead pastry and baking workshops that deliver consistent, high-quality results by following provided recipes and outlines while conveying advanced methods in an encouraging, easy-to-follow manner.
  • Represent the brand through educational moments that inspire guests to visit again, sign up for future classes, and explore featured bakeware, mixers, and finishing tools.
  • Meet program targets measured by enrollment, guest feedback, retail culinary product movement, and repeat class attendance.
  • Prepare and restore classrooms by arranging ingredients in advance, washing and sanitizing utensils promptly, restocking supplies, and keeping workstations ready for the next group.
  • Observe food-safety rules, local health codes, and sanitation practices; manage inventory carefully to limit waste; handle alcoholic beverages only per regulations and age restrictions when required; maintain a safe, clean store environment; record hours accurately; and follow all operating procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum age of 21 at start of employment.
  • Culinary arts degree preferred; substantial kitchen experience with strong technical ability accepted instead.
  • One to two years of kitchen operations background.
  • Valid Food Manager Certification.
  • Excellent verbal communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills plus a genuine drive for community connection and outstanding guest interactions.
  • Physical capacity to stand up to four hours, move through the selling floor and stock areas, lift or carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, grab and manipulate tools for chopping or whisking demonstrations, distinguish flavors and aromas, and operate POS and computer systems.
  • Availability of 12–16 hours weekly with a flexible schedule that can include evenings, weekends, and holidays, plus reliable attendance that accommodates class changes based on demand.
  • Comfort working in a kitchen environment that involves open flames, hot surfaces, temperature swings, and potential food allergens.
