RN Clinical Instructor

Whidbey General Hospital is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Instructor to join our team in Coupeville, Island County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape the clinical competency and professional development of our nursing staff and allied health team members across the WhidbeyHealth System.

About the Role

As an RN Clinical Instructor at Whidbey General Hospital, you will work closely with our Clinical Educator and Executive Director of Quality and Compliance to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive education programs serving both clinical and non-clinical departments. This leadership role is essential to ensuring consistent, high-quality staff training and patient safety outcomes across our health system.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver clinical education programs tailored to departmental needs and evidence-based practices
• Assess nursing staff competency levels and identify skill development opportunities
• Mentor and coach clinical team members to advance their professional practice
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives and adjust programs accordingly
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure training aligns with regulatory and quality standards
• Develop educational materials and curriculum for various clinical topics and patient safety initiatives
• Support new employee onboarding and orientation programs across the WhidbeyHealth System

What We're Looking For

• Current, active RN license in Washington state
• Minimum 3+ years of direct clinical nursing experience
• Experience teaching, training, or mentoring nursing or healthcare professionals
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess learning needs and design educational solutions
• Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement
• Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail
