RN Acute Care Surgical Oncology

About the Role

As an RN in Acute Care Surgical Oncology at UCHealth, you will provide direct patient care in our inpatient pavilion, supporting post-operative and hospitalized cancer patients. This part-time role operates on a 48-hour biweekly schedule with rotating day and night shifts, allowing you to make meaningful clinical contributions while maintaining flexibility in your work life.

What You'll Do

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to acute care surgical oncology patients in the inpatient setting
• Monitor vital signs, manage pain, administer medications, and assess patient responses to treatment
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document clinical observations, communicate patient changes, and participate in care planning
• Provide education and emotional support to patients navigating complex surgical oncology treatment
• Maintain safe, therapeutic inpatient environments and respond promptly to patient needs across day and night shifts
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in the oncology unit

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in Colorado
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with appropriate credentials
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts in an onsite inpatient environment
• Experience or genuine interest in oncology and acute care nursing
• Compassion for patients in vulnerable health situations
• Commitment to safety, quality care, and collaborative teamwork
