About the Role

As a Retail Mortgage Loan Originator at Truist, you'll be the primary point of contact for residential borrowers seeking mortgage financing. You'll work in a customer-facing environment, meeting with prospective homebuyers to understand their financial situations and recommend appropriate loan products. Your expertise will help customers navigate available options and move forward confidently with their home purchase or refinance decision.

What You'll Do

• Consult with customers about mortgage products, loan terms, rates, and eligibility requirements
• Collect and organize financial documentation necessary for loan applications and underwriting review
• Prepare accurate loan applications and ensure all required disclosures are provided and explained
• Manage the full origination workflow from initial meeting through loan approval and closing
• Coordinate with underwriting, appraisers, title companies, and other parties to facilitate timely loan processing
• Maintain compliance with federal and state lending regulations, fair lending practices, and company policies
• Build a strong referral network and cultivate client relationships to support business development goals
• Stay current on mortgage products, market conditions, interest rates, and industry regulations

What We're Looking For

• Valid Mortgage Loan Originator license (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe)
• Strong understanding of residential mortgage products, underwriting standards, and loan programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
• Organized, detail-oriented approach with accuracy in documentation and compliance requirements
