Repair and Tool Technician

Home Depot is hiring a full-time Repair and Tool Technician at our Jamaica, Queens location. This hands-on role combines diagnostic expertise with skilled repair work for small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical tools.

About the Role

As a Repair and Tool Technician, you'll be essential to our equipment maintenance operation. Working in both our Tool Rental Centers and dedicated repair facilities, you'll inspect, diagnose, and restore a diverse range of customer and rental equipment to peak operating condition. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and equipment reliability across all our rental and sales operations.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate and repair small engines in lawn mowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment
• Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical issues in handheld power tools and devices
• Perform routine maintenance, safety inspections, and preventive care on rental equipment
• Recommend appropriate equipment solutions based on customer needs and intended applications
• Document repair work, maintenance schedules, and equipment service history
• Organize and maintain tools, parts inventory, and work areas to support efficiency
• Advise customers and rental staff on proper equipment operation and care

• Hands-on experience repairing small engines, power tools, or related mechanical equipment
• Strong troubleshooting ability with both mechanical and electrical systems
