Repair and Tool Technician

Home Depot is hiring a full-time Repair and Tool Technician in Farmington, Oakland County to diagnose, repair, and maintain customer equipment at our Tool Rental Centers and dedicated service facilities.

About the Role

As a Repair and Tool Technician, you'll be the backbone of Home Depot's equipment rental and repair operations. You'll work hands-on with the tools and outdoor power equipment that customers depend on for their projects. This position combines technical skill, problem-solving, and customer service in a dynamic environment where your expertise directly impacts equipment reliability and customer trust.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair small engines, power tools, and outdoor equipment
• Evaluate equipment condition and recommend maintenance, repair, or replacement
• Test repaired units to verify safety and proper operation
• Prepare rental equipment for customer checkout and maintain inventory
• Document repair work, parts inventory, and service records
• Follow safety protocols and equipment handling standards
• Assist customers with equipment selection and rental guidance

What We're Looking For

• Experience repairing small engines, power tools, or outdoor equipment
