About the Role
As a full-time, on-site Removal Defense Supervising Attorney based in Foy, Los Angeles County, you will guide our removal defense practice while providing direct representation to immigrants facing deportation. This leadership position blends hands-on legal advocacy with team supervision, mentorship, and program oversight at AJSOCAL.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage removal defense cases, ensuring high-quality representation for clients in immigration court.
- Supervise, train, and mentor attorneys, paralegals, and support staff handling deportation matters.
- Represent clients in removal proceedings and develop sound legal strategies on their behalf.
- Review casework, set priorities, and uphold professional and ethical standards across the team.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to advance the rights of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law and admission to a state bar in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience in removal defense and immigration law.
- Prior supervisory, mentorship, or team-leadership experience preferred.
- Strong commitment to civil rights and serving immigrant and AAPI communities.
- Excellent advocacy, organizational, and communication skills.
