About the Role
As a Regulatory Officer focused on hemp, kratom, and other select plant-derived products, you will support the WV Department of Agriculture's Regulatory and Environmental Affairs Division. Reporting to the Hemp/Kratom Program Manager, you will carry out field and program duties that uphold state regulatory standards. This is a non-exempt, full-time position with no supervisory responsibilities, ideal for a detail-oriented professional who values public service and regulatory integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the regulation and oversight of hemp, kratom, and related select plant-derived products in West Virginia.
- Carry out program activities under the direction of the Hemp/Kratom Program Manager.
- Help ensure that regulated products meet applicable state requirements and standards.
- Contribute to the work of the Regulatory and Environmental Affairs Division through accurate, consistent fieldwork and reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following regulatory procedures.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based regulatory environment.
- Willingness to be headquartered in the Eastern Panhandle of Northern West Virginia (this is an on-site, non-remote role).
- Interest in agricultural regulation, compliance, or plant-derived product oversight.
