Registered Nurse(RN)- OR General Surgery

The Hospital of Central Connecticut seeks a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team specializing in General Surgery. This full-time position is located in Middlesex County, offering the opportunity to make a direct impact in one of healthcare's most critical environments, where precision and patient advocacy are paramount.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our General Surgery Operating Room, you will provide comprehensive perioperative care and support across the complete surgical patient journey at our New Britain facility. Working full-time on a 40-hour schedule with five 8-hour shifts, you will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. This position includes rotational backup on-call responsibilities and requires availability for one major and one minor holiday per year, reflecting our commitment to continuous surgical services.

What You'll Do

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for General Surgery procedures, maintaining strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
• Monitor and respond to patient needs throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Assist surgical teams during procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining a sterile field
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort, communicating effectively with interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain detailed and accurate surgical records and documentation
• Respond to on-call rotations as scheduled to support emergency and urgent surgical cases

What We're Looking For

• Current Registered Nurse license (RN) in Connecticut
• Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient safety and quality care

• Operating Room experience or willingness to train
