Registered Nurse (RN)

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Progressive Care team on a part‑time basis.

This role provides direct patient care in a specialized cardiac step‑down unit while supporting the hospital’s mission to improve human life through compassionate, evidence‑based practice.

About the Role

As part of the Cardiovascular Progressive Care (4 Heart) Unit, you will deliver focused nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures and managing acute cardiovascular conditions. You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure seamless, high‑quality outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and fluid balance evaluation.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments according to physician orders and unit protocols.
• Monitor telemetry data, recognize arrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions in coordination with the care team.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and discharge planning.
• Document all nursing activities accurately in the electronic health record while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in unit‑based quality improvement initiatives and support precepting of new staff or students.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control, safety, and emergency response procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina.
• Preferred experience in cardiac step‑down, telemetry, or progressive care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient status.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the capacity to mentor peers and contribute to a positive work culture.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centered care aligned with HCA Healthcare’s focus on the improvement of human life.
• Ability to work a part‑time schedule, including potential weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
