UCHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide specialized clinical care in Aurora, Arapahoe County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver expert nursing support within one of the region's most advanced programs for solid organ transplantation, thoracic surgery, and hepatology care.
About the Role
You'll work at UCHealth's Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in a specialty surgical environment focused on transplant care excellence. Our program is recognized for pioneering work in liver transplantation and maintaining comprehensive expertise across kidney, liver, pancreas, and heart/lung transplant procedures, including specialized living donor programs. Your clinical skills will directly impact outcomes for patients at critical junctures in their medical journeys.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative transplant patients
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, and respond promptly to clinical changes
- Administer medications and implement complex treatment protocols under physician direction
- Educate patients and families on transplant recovery, medication management, and long-term follow-up care
- Collaborate with surgeons, critical care physicians, transplant coordinators, and specialty teams
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Support the full spectrum of transplant care from pre-transplant evaluation through recovery
What We're Looking For
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse license
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
- Comfort working in a complex surgical and intensive care setting
- Prior experience in acute care, critical care, surgical nursing, or transplant nursing preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Dedication to patient-centered, compassionate care
