Solutions Architect – West

GitLab is hiring a Solutions Architect – West to join our United States sales team and serve as a technical advisor to organizations modernizing their software delivery. If you thrive at the intersection of cloud technology, customer strategy, and AI-powered DevSecOps, this role puts you at the center of digital transformation across the West region.

About the Role

As a Solutions Architect at GitLab, you will be the trusted technical counterpart to our Account Executives, partnering with prospects and customers throughout the West region of the United States. Reporting to a regional Solutions Architect Manager, you will connect GitLab's DevSecOps platform to each customer's technical requirements and business goals across the full software development lifecycle. Your first year centers on accelerating platform adoption, supporting revenue growth through solution selling, and forging durable, trust-based relationships in an AI-driven market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery, product demonstrations, and validation efforts, including proofs of value, to map GitLab's AI-powered platform to customer needs end to end.
• Own the technical evaluation as the Directly Responsible Individual, covering solution design, POC/POV delivery, workshop facilitation, and the technical portions of tenders, audits, and value stream assessments.
• Partner with Account Executives and regional sales teams to shape account strategies that drive new business and expansion.
• Cultivate relationships with technical practitioners and senior decision makers, turning them into long-term GitLab advocates.
• Advise on continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud practices, challenging the status quo to improve return on investment.
• Channel customer feedback, use cases, and competitive insight back to Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
• Grow your expertise in GitLab, DevSecOps, and cloud technologies, producing reusable examples and best-practice collateral.

Qualifications

• Background in technical pre-sales, consulting, or a comparable customer-facing role guiding solution design and evaluation.
• Fluency across the end-to-end software development lifecycle, modern DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD workflows.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab or similar source control, CI/CD, and collaboration platforms.
• Working knowledge of cloud computing, including deployment, security, and operations considerations.
• Proven ability to run proofs of concept or value, contribute to tenders and audits, and lead workshops or value stream assessments.
• Clear, adaptable communication skills for audiences ranging from engineers to executives, plus genuine customer empathy.
