About the Role

As a Property Accountant in Stamford, you'll serve as a key member of our financial team, managing critical accounting functions across multiple properties. Working directly with the financial operations team, you'll ensure precision in every transaction, report, and reconciliation that flows through our Fairfield County commercial real estate operations.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and maintain property-level financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Execute month-end and quarter-end closing procedures with accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage rent, lease, and tenant receivables accounting in compliance with GAAP standards
  • Reconcile property bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and sub-ledgers
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions specific to property operations
  • Generate property financial statements, variance analyses, and performance reports
  • Track and categorize property operating expenses and capital expenditures
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting regulations

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in property accounting, real estate accounting, or commercial real estate finance
