What This Role Involves

The Power Plant Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in a power plant to ensure efficient and safe operations. The role involves monitoring systems, performing routine maintenance tasks, and responding to emergencies as needed.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor power plant equipment according to established procedures
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
• Respond to emergency situations by quickly and safely addressing issues
• Document all operational activities and maintain accurate records
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in power plant technology preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for commute to the job site
• Previous experience as a Power Plant Equipment Operator or related field is advantageous
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to operate heavy machinery safely
• Aptitude for problem-solving and quick decision-making in emergency situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
