About the Role

As a school counselor, you will be a dedicated member of our support team, providing comprehensive counseling services to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. This role focuses on creating a positive school environment, fostering student well-being, and supporting academic success through direct counseling, consultation, and prevention programming.

What You'll Do

• Provide individual and small-group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns
• Conduct classroom guidance lessons and presentations on topics including social skills, conflict resolution, and wellness
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to support student success and address developmental needs
• Assist with crisis intervention and support for students experiencing difficulties
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive school culture that promotes positive relationships and student engagement
• Maintain detailed counseling records and participate in school meetings and planning

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree (minimum qualification required by the Hawaii State Department of Education)
• Valid Hawaii teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure as a school counselor
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, families, and staff
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners and fostering an equitable school community
• Knowledge of adolescent development, mental health practices, and evidence-based counseling approaches
