What This Role Involves

Join WesTrac’s Tomago CAT workshops (Rebuilds & GCON) and work on some of the biggest mining and construction gear in the industry. We’re looking for trade-qualified Plant / Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join high-performing teams across machine rebuilds, maintenance, and diagnostics.

Core Duties

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, trucks, and other construction machinery.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues related to electrical systems, hydraulics, engines, and transmissions.
• Disassemble and reassemble machines for rebuilds following strict safety guidelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Skills & Qualifications

• A trade qualification in Heavy Diesel or similar relevant field is essential.
• Demonstrated experience working on heavy construction and mining equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to identify mechanical issues quickly.
• Physical fitness for lifting heavy parts and working in various environments.
