Hillman is seeking a dedicated Packaging Operator I to join our team in Cincinnati, Hamilton County on a full‑time basis.
About the Role
This position operates on the second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, with possible overtime depending on production needs. You will be responsible for safely packaging a variety of products to meet specific customer requirements while maintaining quality and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Set up, operate, and monitor packaging machinery according to work orders and specifications
- Inspect packaged goods for accuracy, proper sealing, and label placement
- Perform routine equipment checks, minor adjustments, and basic maintenance to minimize downtime
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and lockout/tagout procedures
- Document production output, material usage, and any discrepancies in shift logs or tracking systems
- Collaborate with teammates and supervisors to meet daily targets and address operational issues promptly
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality standards throughout the packaging process
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, schematics, and basic measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high‑quality output
- Good communication skills and the willingness to work effectively within a team setting
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions
- Reliability and flexibility to work the scheduled second shift, including occasional weekend overtime
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and recording production data
