About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene, you'll work with patients across the lifespan who are recovering from injuries, surgeries, neurological conditions, and other medical events. You'll design and implement individualized therapy plans that help patients regain functional abilities, rebuild confidence, and return to meaningful activities at home and in their community.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evaluations to identify patient strengths, limitations, and rehabilitation potential
• Develop, execute, and modify evidence-based treatment plans focused on activities of daily living, motor skills, cognitive function, and vocational readiness
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehab teams—physicians, physical therapists, nurses, and case managers—to coordinate seamless patient care
• Document patient progress, therapy outcomes, and clinical findings in accordance with regulatory standards and insurance requirements
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and home safety modifications for successful transitions
• Contribute to the therapeutic culture of a patient-focused rehabilitation facility

What We're Looking For

• Current occupational therapy license and eligibility to practice in Texas
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program
• Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation principles, functional assessment, and adaptive interventions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Ability to document thoroughly and maintain confidentiality in a regulated healthcare environment
• Commitment to patient dignity and the mission of helping individuals achieve independence
