Hartford HealthCare Medical Group seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant to join our neurosurgery team in Ellington, Connecticut. About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in neurosurgery, you will be a vital member of our clinical team, working alongside experienced neurosurgeons and nursing staff to provide comprehensive patient care. You'll evaluate patients, assist in treatment planning, and coordinate care throughout the patient journey—from pre-operative assessment through post-operative follow-up and long-term management.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings in medical records
• Assist neurosurgeons in pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations
• Support surgical procedures and contribute to intra-operative care
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies including imaging and laboratory results
• Manage patient symptoms and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the neurosurgery team
• Communicate with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and outcomes
• Coordinate follow-up care and ensure continuity between clinical encounters

What We're Looking For

• Valid licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant in Connecticut
• Clinical experience in a surgical or specialized healthcare setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
