Live In Care Assistant

Home Instead is seeking a compassionate Live In Care Assistant to join our team in Newton Abbot, UK. This full-time residential care position offers the opportunity to support vulnerable individuals with their daily living needs whilst providing meaningful companionship in their own homes.

The Opportunity

As a Live In Care Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our client care delivery, residing with a client and providing essential support that enables them to maintain independence and dignity. This role is ideal for caring individuals who want to make a genuine difference by delivering personalised care tailored to each person's unique circumstances and preferences.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Prepare nutritious meals and support clients with eating and hydration
• Help with medication reminders as directed by care plans
• Provide light housekeeping and maintain a safe, clean living environment
• Offer emotional support and meaningful companionship to promote wellbeing
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living
• Monitor client welfare and report changes to our management team
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold client dignity and privacy consistently

What You Bring

• A genuine passion for supporting and caring for vulnerable people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliability, patience, and a respectful, person-centred approach
• Physical capability to assist with personal care and mobility
• Care experience or qualifications such as Health and Social Care training (desirable)
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one
• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accountability for client welfare
